The Redland Times ROGI presentation

Find out about organic gardening

05 Mar, 2012 12:00 AM

ANYONE who would like to pursue an organic, locally-sourced solution to their garden issues, to connect with the community and to make friends with like-minded people is invited to meet with the Redland Organic Growers Inc (ROGI).

The ROGI shop sells books, seeds and organic gardening products. Members have library facilities. On March 6 Donna Fisher, the author of books exploring the concept of dirty electricity, discusses the health effects of electromagnetic radiation. Donna and her neighbours in Tanah Merah (Logan) battled with Energex to stop an electricity sub-station which they felt would be unsafe.

On April 3 Tim Auld's topic "All you can eat gardens" is about designing, building and maintaining productive urban and suburban gardens. Tim has a Permaculture Design Certificate and is an accredited permaculture trainer.

Meetings are held at 6.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month at IndigiScapes, Runnymede Road, Capalaba. Bring finger food to share and a mug. Visitors $5; membership is $30 year. For further information, email lindabarrett@bigpond.com
